  Dr. Mohammad Reza Baneshi

Associate professor of Biostatistics



Reza is associate professor of Biostatistics, affiliated to Kerman university of medical sciences (biostatistics and epidemiology department. His main interests are survival analysis, analysis of incomplete data, population size estimation of hidden groups, and modeling of cancer data. He works with R and SPSS packages. He has published nearly 70 papers where 30 ones can be found in PUBMED. He was the manager of Iranian size estimation study in 2012. The second phase of that study will be run in 2014.

I graduated from ShahidBahonar University of Kerman in Bachelor of Social Sciences (Statistics) in 2008.I accepted at Master of Sociology in Kerman University of Medical Sciences in Biostatistics in 2009.Title of my theses is “the comparison between tree-based model and neural network in IDUs in prisoners in Kerman”. I was teaching Biostatistics in Kerman University of Medical Sciences since 2011. After graduation, I worked in Research Center for Modeling in Health as researcher. My main interests are NSU methods, Data mining and modeling. I participated in three national survey on estimating of the active network size of Iranian population and frequency of hidden groups such as FSWs, MSMs, IDU,... and published many papers in international and national journals. I participated in International workshop on “size estimation” in Tehran in 20012 and cooperated as facilitator in International Workshop on “Statistical Models and Diagnostics for population Size Estimation Models” in 2014 in Shiraz. I can work by SPSS, MINITAB, STATA, R, WINBUGS softwares. Now I am PhD studentin the Research Center of Modeling in Health,Kerman University of Medical Sciences.

دوره دبیرستان را در رشته علوم تجربی در مدرسه نمونه دولتی شیراز به اتمام رساندم و در سال ۱۳۸۶ در رشته کارشناسی مدیریت خدمات بهداشتی درمانی دانشگاه علوم پزشکی کرمان پذیرفته شدم. در طول دوران تحصیل در کارهای اجرایی متعددی شرکت نمودم؛ در این دوران در همایش­های علمی پژوهشی حضور فعال داشتم. و در خرداد ۱۳۹۰ با ارائه پایان­ نامه خود با موضوع "تعیین چالش­های مراکز رشد حوزه سلامت" فارغ االتحصیلشدم
­و از همان زمان در مرکز تحقیقات مدل­سازی در سلامت مشغول به کار شدم

I graduated from Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman in Bachelor of Social Sciences (Social Research) in 2006. After graduation, I worked in Scientific Writing Unit (in Kerman University of Medical Sciences) and Regional Knowledge Hub, and WHO Collaborating Center for HIV Surveillance as a researcher. Between 2007-2014, I participated in many national and international workshops as participants (GIS and its applications on public Heath, New Sampling Methods for surveys among populations at Increased Risk of HIV, Population Size Estimation Methods, Systematic Review and Meta-analysis, and Writing in the Science) and I was lecturer in National Workshop on Endnote 10. Software, National Workshop on STATA, National Workshop on “Survey data analysis of STEPS in Iran.At 2011, I accepted at Master of Sociology in Shiraz University and I gained 1 st rank. From that time, I am cooperating as a researcher with   Research Center for Modeling in Health, social Determinants Health Committee, and Regional Knowledge Hub, and WHO Collaborating Center for HIV Surveillance.
